Clear polycarbonate desiccator having extra heavy walls to eliminate the danger of implosion. Desiccator will hold a vacuum of 740mm of Hg (29”) for a period of 24 hours. Space saving design of the desiccator dome provides maximum interior clearances, giving an average of 13% greater interior volume than hemispherical domes. The supplied polypropylene stopcock has a PTFE plug which turns easily, allowing a slow, gentle entrance of air to prevent unnecessary turbulence and crucible damage. Stopcock port accepts 1/4” I.D. tubing. Supplied complete with a neoprene o-ring unaffected by temperatures down to 0ºC. Polypropylene plate that is supplied with the desiccator is 1/8” thick with 1/8” perforations for air transfer. The superior dehumidification performance of the Autodesiccator model makes it a natural choice for more perishable and expensive products that require constant low humidity. Totally automatic, continual desiccation with silica beads, and generation every 20 minutes, keeps RH level at a constant level. Electron Microscopy Sciences Mini Vacuum Desiccator
The top part of the desiccator is clear, molded from polycarbonate and see-through from any angle. A polyethylene stopcock with a "PTFE" plug allows for gentle releasing of the vacuum. A peripheral flange around the polypropylene bottom section fits into and snap locks therefore sealing the two halves against a "O" ring. Vacuum retention rating is 740 mm Hg (29"). Inside dimensions are 102 mm (4) diameter x 59 mm (2 7/16)high. The base is 175 mm (6 7/8) diameter.
